There’s More Than One Cup of Joe in Yachats
Nothing warms us up more than a mug of steaming hot coffee, especially on cold days that hold the chill well beyond the early morning. Whether the days are foggy, windy, wet or wild, coffee always hits the spot. Good thing Yachats has several coffee shops to explore. Check local listings for hours of operation, as hours can change seasonally. Enjoy!
Dream Machine Coffee
Located within the building that houses Ona Restaurant, on the north side, Dream Machine Coffee serves high-quality brewed coffee and coffee drinks, including espressos, lattés and mochas in 12 ounces or 16 ounces. They also serve hot tea, iced tea, cold brew coffee and a variety of freshly made fruit smoothies and baked cookies. Looking for something savory to go with your coffee? Savory puff pastries are on the menu, featuring local cheeses, etc.
“We are very proud of the quality of espresso that we make, and we use only the highest quality ingredients,” says Matthew Croka, who owns and operates the shop with Tara Stichter. He recommends pairing an espresso with a Valrhona chocolate chip cookie, which is sprinkled with Oregon-made Jacobsen Salt Co. flaked sea salt.
Dream Machine Coffee is at 131 Highway 101 North. There is outdoor patio seating.
Green Salmon Coffee Company
This micro coffee roaster carries organic and fair trade espressos, coffees and teas, which are sold by the bean and loose leaf, as well as by the cup. Another favorite? Their hand-blended cocoa mixes, including Pacific Northwest Rosemary-Lavender Cocoa and Supershroom Cocoa.
The bakery and café serves breakfast and lunch. Items on the breakfast menu include wraps, bagel sandwiches and toasted maple oats with a variety of mix-ins. The lunch menu focuses on sandwiches and salads. The pastry case is known to have a few goodies on hand, too, if you’re just stopping in for just a quick treat and a beverage, but the earlier the better!
Green Salmon Coffee Company is at 220 Highway 101 North.
The Village Bean
Drive up or step inside this colorful café house that serves a full menu of coffee drinks, including classic brews and espressos, lattés, iced coffee, mochas and mixed coffee drinks, including the famous Sea Turtle, a blend of coffee, white chocolate, caramel and vanilla. You can even add a dose of CBD to your coffee for an additional cost.
For non-coffee drinkers, try a blended fruit smoothie, hot cocoa, hot tea or iced lavender lemonade. Baked fresh daily are scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, coffee cake, fruit tarts and more.
In its 20th year of business, The Village Bean is at 969 Highway 101 North.
Beach Street Kitchen
Serving locally roasted beans by Newport’s own Surftown Coffee Co., Beach Street Kitchen’s brewed coffees and espressos are certified organic and fair trade. They also offer a selection of teas and fresh fruit smoothies.
Have more time to enjoy some breakfast? Dine in or order online to pick up and take out. The menu features a breakfast panini, baked French toast and frittatas made with local eggs. Lunch offerings include tacos, wraps, paninis, soups and salads.
Beach Street Kitchen is at 84 Beach St.
Bread & Roses Bakery
Bread & Roses Bakery may specialize in fresh-baked breads, pastries and cakes on site, but they also serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks using organic and fair trade coffee beans roasted by Cafeto Coffee Company in Eugene. Drinks are served hot and to-go, including drip coffee, espresso shots, lattés and mochas. Another specialty? Golden milk is made with steamed milk, turmeric, spices and honey.
But let’s face it. You won’t be able to resist the fresh-baked goods! We suggest you grab a country loaf or a baguette at the very least to enjoy with a cup of clam chowder, made fresh daily at nearby Luna Sea Fish House. It’s a lunch you won’t forget.
Bread & Roses Bakery is at 248 4th St. Get there early. The breads and pastries sell out quickly.

This blend of certified organic coffees from Central America and Indonesia has a hint of licorice and smoke, along with notes of toasted vanilla beans and cocoa nibs. For decaf lovers, the roaster’s organic blend comes from the region of western Honduras. We order our coffee on Mondays. The beans are roasted and ground on Mondays, packaged on Tuesdays, shipped on Wednesdays and arrive to us on Thursdays. Breakfast, too, is included with your stay, served daily in the lobby.
